JUSTB is a six-member boy group under Bluedot Entertainment that debuted on June 30, 2021, with their first mini album JUST BURN. Comprised of LIM JIMIN, GEONU, Bain, SIWOO, DY, and SANGWOO, the group has grown into one of K-pop’s most emotionally resonant and conceptually driven acts. From the start, they’ve distinguished themselves with cinematic storytelling, expressive performances, and a rare ability to connect deeply with listeners through both sound and movement. Across releases like JUST BEAT, = (NEUN), JUST BEGUN, and SONIC BORN, JUSTB has continued to evolve both sonically and artistically—balancing sharp, dynamic choreography with lyrical vulnerability. Their work captures the turbulence of youth, the search for identity, and the beauty found in introspection. Today, that sense of authenticity and ownership radiates through everything they create. A testament to how far they’ve come since their debut and how fearlessly they continue to explore new creative ground.

Over the past year, JUSTB has entered an exciting new chapter of artistry and self-expression. The members are noticeably more involved at every stage of the creative process, from songwriting and choreography to shaping the group’s overall concept and visual direction. This deeper participation highlights not only their growing confidence but also their dedication to authenticity. DY has emerged as a standout songwriter, imbuing the group’s music with emotional honesty and lyrical depth that lingers long after the final note. Geonu continues to play a key role in both songwriting and choreography, helping shape the group’s signature blend of storytelling and movement, while Sangwoo has increasingly contributed to choreography, translating emotion into striking, precise performances. Their hands-on involvement across the board has sharpened JUSTB’s artistry and cemented their identity as creators who fully own their narrative.

In our latest exclusive interview with JUSTB, we were once again reminded of the remarkable growth they have achieved. This time, the group invites us into the world of their fifth mini album, [SNOW ANGEL]—sharing the excitement and energy that filled the studio as they began work on this bold, emotional, and experimental project. The members reflected on the album's themes, how it represents their evolving artistic identity while staying true to JUSTB, and expressed excitement about reconnecting with fans on their upcoming Listening Tour.

Welcome back, JUSTB! It’s so good to chat with you again. Fans have been so excited about [SNOW ANGEL] ever since you announced it. What was the atmosphere like among the members when you first started working on the album?다시 만나서 반가워요, JUSTB! 이번에 또 이렇게 이야기 나눌 수 있어서 정말 기쁩니다. [SNOW ANGEL] 발표 소식 이후 팬들이 굉장히 들떴는데요, 앨범 작업을 처음 시작했을 때 멤버들 사이의 분위기는 어땠나요?

GEONU: Nice to meet you, HKP. We had a lot of discussions about whether to continue the digital core after releasing "JUST ODD" and "CHEST" last time, so the atmosphere was very serious and careful. 반갑습니다 HKP. 이번 앨범 제작에 들어가기 직전에 저희가 저번에 “JUST ODD" 와 ”CHEST“ 를 발매한 뒤의 디지털한 코어를 계속 이어나갈지, 어떻게 이어나갈지에 대한 회의를 많이 했었기 때문에 꽤나 진지하고 신중한 분위기였습니다.

Congratulations on your 5th mini album, [SNOW ANGEL]! What message or emotion did you want fans to feel when they first hear it? 다섯 번째 미니앨범 [SNOW ANGEL] 발매를 축하드립니다! 팬들이 이번 앨범을 처음 들었을 때 어떤 메시지나 감정을 느끼길 바라셨나요?

LIM JIMIN: We hope fans feel that JUSTB is trying new things and doing more diverse music and challenging things. 저스트비가 새로운 시도를 하고 더 다양한 음악을 하고 도전하고 있구나를 느꼈으면 좋겠습니다.

This album feels like a new era for JUSTB—bold, emotional, and experimental. How would each of you describe [SNOW ANGEL] in your own words? 이번 앨범은 JUSTB에게 완전히 새로운 시대처럼 느껴집니다 — 대담하고, 감정적이며, 실험적인데요. 각자 [SNOW ANGEL]을 한 단어 혹은 한 문장으로 표현한다면 어떻게 설명하고 싶나요?

Bain: I'd like to describe SNOW ANGEL as "broken purity." What I felt while working on this album was that purity wasn't just clean and clear, it was the power to be reborn through wounds. Even in the cold and brittle emotions of the snow, there's definitely something that glows in it. We wanted to bring that out with music, so this album is a "moment where pain is made with art" for us. I think JUSTB's new era begins with truth rather than perfection. 저는 SNOW ANGEL을 “깨진 순수함”이라고 표현하고 싶어요. 이 앨범을 작업하면서 느낀 건, 순수함이란 단순히 깨끗하고 맑은 게 아니라, 상처를 통해 다시 태어나는 힘이더라고요. 눈처럼 차갑고 부서질 것 같은 감정 속에서도, 그 안에서 빛나는 무언가가 분명히 있어요. 저희는 그걸 음악으로 꺼내고 싶었고, 그래서 이번 앨범은 저희에게 ‘아픔까지 예술로 만든 순간’이에요. The album explores where warmth meets cold, love meets loss, and human meets digital. What kind of emotions or imagery did you personally associate with these themes while working on [SNOW ANGEL]? 이번 앨범은 따뜻함과 차가움, 사랑과 상실, 인간과 디지털이 교차하는 지점을 탐구하고 있습니다. 작업하면서 개인적으로 이러한 테마에서 어떤 감정이나 이미지를 떠올리셨나요?

DY: When expressing the emotion of love, I imagined more detailed and direct situations. I wanted to capture realistic emotions in my music—something that feels almost physical and tangible. 사랑이라는 감정을 표현할 때, 보다 디테일하고 직접적인 상황들을 상상하며 작업했어요. 실제로 몸에 와닿을 만큼 현실적인 감정선들을 음악 안에 담고 싶었습니다.

GEONU

“TRUE HEART” is such a powerful title track—full of intensity, emotion, and sincerity. What does this song represent to you as artists, and why do you think it captures the spirit of the album so well? 타이틀곡 “TRUE HEART”는 강렬함과 감정, 진심이 모두 담긴 곡이에요. 이 곡이 아티스트로서 여러분에게 어떤 의미를 갖는지, 또 왜 이 곡이 앨범의 정신을 가장 잘 담고 있다고 생각하는지 궁금합니다.

GEONU: The strong bass sound represents our team's taste and center point, and it is the representative song of the album because it is a song that expresses the most honest love that blooms between selfishness and altruism, and has a hooking element.

강한 베이스 사운드는 저희 팀의 취향과 중심점을 잘 나타내고, 이기심과 이타심 사이에서 피어나는 가장 솔직한 사랑이 잘 표현된 곡이면서도 후킹한 요소를 갖추고 있기에 앨범의 대표곡입니다.

[SNOW ANGEL] feels like a statement of artistic identity and growth. Looking back from debut until now, what does this album represent for JUSTB’s evolution—and what kind of “new direction” do you hope fans see in you through it?[SNOW ANGEL]은 JUSTB의 예술적 정체성과 성장을 보여주는 앨범처럼 느껴집니다. 데뷔 때부터 지금까지 돌아봤을 때, 이 앨범은 JUSTB의 어떤 변화를 상징하고 있나요? 그리고 이번 앨범을 통해 팬들이 어떤 ‘새로운 방향성’을 느끼길 바라시나요?

GEONU It seems like JUSTB is living a more independent, subjective life in their 20s, and I hope ONLYB can empathize and understand aspects beyond the choice of this musical direction.JUSTB가 더 독립적이고 주체적인 20대의 삶을 살고 있음을 보여주고 있는 것 같고, ONLYB가 이 음악적 방향에 대한 선택 그 너머의 부분들에도 공감과 이해가 닿을 수 있었으면 좋겠습니다.

Bain: This is an album that takes out our own anxieties and wounds. Like the footprints on the cold snow, it honestly shows the traces of our walk, but also contains the warmth that blooms again.

이번 앨범은 저희 스스로의 불안과 상처를 그대로 꺼내놓은 앨범이에요 차가운 눈 위에 남은 발자국처럼, 저희가 걸어온 흔적을 솔직하게 보여주면서도 그 안에서 다시 피어나는 따뜻함을 담았어요.

I want our fans to feel "JUSTB is now speaking in its own language" through this album. I want you to watch our changes, which have become deeper emotionally and freer expressively. 팬분들이 이 앨범을 통해 “JUSTB가 이제 자신만의 언어로 이야기하고 있구나”라는 걸 느끼셨으면 해요. 감정적으로 더 깊어지고, 표현적으로 더 자유로워진 저희의 변화를 함께 봐주셨으면 합니다.

GEONU, you played a huge role in connecting with the global production team and shaping [SNOW ANGEL]’s creative direction. What was it like stepping into that kind of leadership behind the scenes, and how did that collaboration influence the final sound of the album?건우 씨는 글로벌 프로덕션 팀과의 소통, 그리고 [SNOW ANGEL]의 크리에이티브 방향을 잡는 데 큰 역할을 했죠. 그런 리더십을 맡았던 경험은 어땠나요? 또 그 협업이 앨범의 사운드에 어떤 영향을 주었다고 생각하시나요?

GEONU: I worked really hard to communicate with everyone well, but when it comes to creative parts coming out cool, it's entirely thanks to the great sense and design of the 808hertz production of this album. 소통은 제가 정말 열심히 했지만 크리에이티브한 부분들이 멋있게 나옴에 있어서는 온전히 이번 앨범의 프로덕션인 808hertz의 뛰어난 감각과 디자이닝 덕분입니다.

LIM JIMIN, as leader, you’ve seen JUSTB evolve through so many different sounds and concepts. What felt most different about creating [SNOW ANGEL], and how did you support the team through this more experimental direction while keeping your shared identity strong? 지민 씨는 리더로서 JUSTB가 다양한 사운드와 콘셉트를 통해 성장하는 과정을 모두 지켜봤죠. 이번 [SNOW ANGEL]을 만들면서 가장 달랐던 점은 무엇이었나요? 또 이렇게 실험적인 방향으로 나아가면서도 팀의 정체성을 지키기 위해 어떤 노력을 하셨는지 궁금합니다.

LIM JIMIN: This time, we had the goal of showing new colors within ourselves more boldly. Soundly, it was a much more delicate and experimental experiment than before. And we put the most effort into balancing ourselves so that we could sound like a team while still keeping our individuality alive. 이번에는 우리 안의 새로운 색깔을 더 과감하게 보여주자는 목표가 있었어요. 사운드적으로는 이전보다 훨씬 섬세하고 실험적인 시도를 했습니다. 그리고 각자 가진 개성을 더 살리면서도, 우리가 하나의 팀으로 들릴 수 있도록 밸런스를 맞추는 데 가장 신경 썼습니다.

DY, we had the pleasure of talking with you recently about your songwriting, and your growth as a creator really shows on this album. What did you want to express through your work on [SNOW ANGEL], and was there a particular track that pushed you in new ways? DY 씨, 최근 인터뷰에서 작사·작곡에 대한 이야기를 들려주셨는데 이번 앨범에서도 크리에이터로서의 성장이 정말 돋보였어요. [SNOW ANGEL]을 통해 표현하고 싶었던 것은 무엇이었나요? 또 이번 앨범 작업 중 스스로에게 가장 도전이 되었던 곡이 있었나요?

DY: It’s about the visual of music. This time, when expressing the “color” of the music, I wanted to lower its saturation a bit. 음악의 비주얼입니다. 이번에는 그 ‘음악의 색’을 표현할 때, 채도를 조금 낮추고 싶었어요.

The most challenging track for me was BHYT, the one I was most deeply involved in. I remember trying many different approaches and putting a lot of thought into it to make the song more complete. 가장 도전이 되었던 곡은 제가 가장 많이 참여한 ‘BHYT’였어요. 곡의 완성도를 높이기 위해 여러 시도를 하며 많은 고민을 했던 기억이 납니다.

BAIN, you played a key role in the album’s visual and concept direction. How did you approach connecting SNOW ANGEL’s sound to its imagery? 배인 씨는 이번 앨범의 비주얼과 콘셉트 디렉션에서 중요한 역할을 맡으셨죠. [SNOW ANGEL]의 사운드와 이미지를 연결할 때 어떤 접근으로 작업하셨나요?

Bain: This concept focused on visually expressing dual emotions such as 'warmness in the cold' and 'scarring in the purity'. 이번 콘셉트는 ‘차가움 속의 따뜻함’, ‘순수함 속의 상처’ 같은 이중적인 감정을 시각적으로 표현하는 데 집중했어요.

I wanted to feel the dreamy, rough texture of the music at the same time, so I used a clean white tone in the visual as well. I tried to express the moment when coldness and warmth collide, which is the core of [SNOW ANGEL]. 음악이 가진 몽환적이고도 거친 질감이 동시에 느껴지길 바랐기 때문에, 비주얼에서도 깨끗한 화이트 톤을 사용했어요. 차가움과 온기가 부딪히는 순간을 표현하려 했고 그게 바로 SNOW ANGEL의 핵심이에요.

SIWOO, your vocals really shine on the emotional tracks like “SWEATER” and “SNOW ANGEL.” What mindset do you get into to convey those delicate emotions while recording?

시우 씨는 “SWEATER”나 “SNOW ANGEL” 같은 곡들에서 보컬이 정말 돋보였어요. 녹음할 때 이런 섬세한 감정을 표현하기 위해 어떤 마음가짐으로 임하셨나요?

SIWOO: I tried not to overthink and just focused on my vocal tone. For example, I’d simply think, “This part needs falsetto, so I should mix in a bit more breath,” and record with that mindset.

복잡한 생각은 하지 않고, 보컬 톤에만 집중했습니다. ‘이 부분은 가성이니까 호흡을 조금 더 섞어서 내야겠다’ 이 정도로만 생각하고 녹음에 임했던 것 같아요.

SANGWOO, you were involved in the choreography direction. How did you interpret the “SNOW ANGEL” theme through movement and performance?

상우 씨는 이번 앨범의 안무에도 참여하셨죠. [SNOW ANGEL]의 테마를 움직임과 퍼포먼스를 통해 어떻게 해석하셨나요?

SANGWOO: I wanted the people watching our performance to feel the same imagery I felt when I listened to this song.

퍼포먼스를 보는 분들이 제가 이 노래를 들었을 때 느꼈던 이미지를 함께 느낄 수 있게 하고 싶었습니다.

Since [SNOW ANGEL] mixes warmth and cold, let’s imagine you’re all stuck inside on a snowy day. Who’s making the snacks, who’s controlling the playlist, and who’s starting the snowball fight?

[SNOW ANGEL]은 따뜻함과 차가움이 공존하는 앨범이죠. 만약 멤버들이 눈 내리는 날 한 집 안에 함께 갇혀 있다면 — 누가 간식을 만들고, 누가 플레이리스트를 관리하며, 누가 제일 먼저 눈싸움을 시작할까요?

SIWOO: Oh, that’s such a fun question! I think Bain would be the one making snacks, GEONU and JIMIN would probably take charge of the playlist, and SANGWOO would be the first to start a snowball fight.

오, 재밌는 질문이네요! 간식은 배인이가 만들 것 같고, 플레이리스트는 건우랑 지민이가 맡을 것 같아요. 눈싸움은 상우가 제일 먼저 시작할 것 같습니다.

Looking back, which moments or songs in your discography make you feel most proud personally, and which do you feel best represent JUSTB’s growth?

돌아보았을 때, 이 앨범들 속에서 개인적으로 가장 자랑스러웠던 순간이나 곡은 무엇이고, JUSTB의 성장을 가장 잘 보여준다고 생각하는 곡은 무엇인가요?

GEONU: When "CHEST" recently hit 1,000,000 cumulative hits on Spotify, I was proud that it seems to be getting musically recognized for its little investment in promotions. For now, I think "SNOW ANGEL" represents the most advanced JUSTB music. 최근에 "CHEST" 가 스포티파이에서 누적 청취수 1,000,000 을 찍었을 때, 프로모션에 투자를 거의 하지 못했던 것에 비해 음악적으로 인정을 받고 있는 것 같아 자랑스러웠습니다. 현재는 "SNOW ANGEL" 이 가장 발전한 JUSTB 음악을 보여준다고 생각합니다.

SIWOO: I think the most rewarding moment is when the album is finally released. It’s the moment when all the time and effort we put into preparing it are revealed to the world. As for the song that best represents JUSTB’s growth, I’d say it’s “CHEST.” Though I guess that might change now with our new songs coming out! 저는 앨범이 세상에 나올 때가 가장 자랑스러운 순간인 것 같습니다. 준비하는 동안의 시간과 노력이 드디어 공개되는 순간이니까요. 그리고 저스트비의 성장을 가장 잘 보여주는 곡은 ‘CHEST’라고 생각해요. 물론 이제 신곡으로 바뀌겠지만요.

You mentioned during the Seattle stop of your [JUST ODD] tour that you’d be working on a new album as soon as you returned to Korea and would be back soon—and you’ve definitely lived up to that promise with [SNOW ANGEL]! Now, as you head back to the U.S. for your Listening Tour—your second visit this year—what are you most looking forward to experiencing again? 시애틀 [JUST ODD] 투어 때 “한국 돌아가자마자 새 앨범 작업에 들어갈 예정이고, 곧 다시 만나자”고 약속하셨죠. 그리고 정말 그 약속을 지키셨네요! 이제 다시 미국으로 리스닝 투어를 떠나게 되었는데, 이번이 올해 두 번째 방문이에요. 다시 찾는 미국에서 가장 기대되는 점은 무엇이고, 지난번과 달라진 점이 있다면 무엇인가요?

LIM JIMIN: I'm so happy to meet ONLYB in the U.S. again, and I'm already excited and looking forward to playing this album for international ONLYB. 다시 미국에서 온리비를 만날 수 있어서 너무 기쁘고, 이번 앨범을 미국에 있는 온리비들한테 들려줄 생각에 벌써 설레고 기대가 되는 거 같습니다.

If you could leave one message in the snow for your fans to read, what would you write? 만약 눈 위에 팬들이 볼 수 있도록 메시지를 하나 남길 수 있다면, 어떤 말을 쓰고 싶나요?

LIM JIMIN: I want to write "happiness." Because there is energy from the word "happiness," and I want the people I love to be happy. 행복이라는 글씨를 쓰고 싶어요. 행복이라는 단어가 주는 에너지가 있고, 제가 사랑하는 사람들이 행복했으면 좋겠기 때문입니다.

GEONU: Experience being an "emo angel" while listening to [SNOW ANGEL] with earphones in your ears in snow. 눈 속에서 귀에 이어폰을 꽂고 [SNOW ANGEL] 을 들으며 ”emo 천사“ 가 되는 경험을 해보세요.

Bain: I'd like to write, "Our temperature doesn't go away." “우리의 온도는 사라지지 않아.” 라고 적고 싶습니다.

I believe that the snow will melt someday, but the heart engraved on it will remain. I think that's the same with the fans. I think that's the real meaning of SNOW ANGEL, where we meet again at the same temperature. 눈은 언젠가 녹지만, 그 위에 새겨진 마음은 계속 남는다고 믿어요. 팬분들과 저희가 함께 만들어온 감정도 그런 거라고 생각해요. 결국 같은 온도로 다시 만나게 되는, 그게 SNOW ANGEL의 진짜 의미 아닐까 싶습니다.

SIWOO: I’d like to write, “ONLYB 사랑해 진짜 많이(ONLYB, I really love you so much)” I’d love to make it a longer message, but my hands would probably get too cold! (laughs) “ONLYB 사랑해 진짜 많이” 라고 쓰고 싶어요. 더 길게 쓰고 싶지만… 손이 시려울 것 같아서요 (웃음).

DY: A heart. 심장.
