With each release, ANGEL NOISE continues to evolve, exploring new sounds and themes while staying true to their signature energy. Their music resonates not only through catchy melodies but also through the sincerity and passion they bring to every performance. As a duo, KEPI and HAENA balance each other perfectly, blending musicality with expressive vocals to create songs that are both fun and meaningful. “Ram Pang Pang”, their third single released on August 29, 2025, exemplifies this growth, capturing the playful yet heartfelt essence that defines ANGEL NOISE.

In this exclusive interview, ANGEL NOISE opens up about the inspiration, emotions, and creative journey behind “Ram Pang Pang”. They share insights into their experiences as a duo, reflect on their evolution since debut, and offer fans a glimpse into the personal and artistic moments that shaped this latest release.

Hi ANGEL NOISE! Can you start by introducing yourselves and your roles in the group for fans who are just discovering you?

HAENA: Hello! I'm Haena, the vocalist of ANGEL NOISE! I did dance until middle school grade 3, and then started focusing on vocals when I entered high school. Now I'm really happy performing on stage with Kepi unnie!

KEPI: Hello, I'm Kepi, the keyboardist and producer. I started playing piano when I was 6, and now I'm in charge of composing, arranging, and sound directing for our team. I also do vocals sometimes.

How would you describe ANGEL NOISE’s overall identity and sound to someone who has never listened before?

KEPI: We pursue a sound that combines the catchiness of K-Pop with the energy of rock. Recently, we've been inspired by 8-bit game music and anime OSTs... (laughs) We're also experimenting with mixing punk rock with electronic music. Like the contrasting words 'Angel' and 'Noise', our identity is the coexistence of clean and rough elements.

HAENA: That's right! We don't want to be trapped in a box. We put that message in 'TOY TOY' too!

Congratulations on your third single! How would you describe the mood, story, or message behind “Ram Pang Pang”?

HAENA: Thank you! 'Ram Pang Pang' is really addictive! The hooks like "ram pam pang pang", "pop pop pang pang" keep spinning in your head.

KEPI: This time, we went full 8-bit arcade game concept. You can see us transformed into fighting game characters... Actually, I put a lot of my favorite retro game vibes into it. We layered electronic sounds over fast-tempo punk rock to give that feeling of being inside a game.

Were there any particular feelings or experiences that influenced the lyrics and themes of this single?

KEPI: Well... I enjoy anime and games a lot, and I wanted to express that subculture energy through music. Especially that raw excitement from 8-bit era sounds? I wanted to reinterpret that in a modern way.

HAENA: When I first heard the demo, I thought, "Wow, this is so exciting!" So when recording, I sang with real joy and energy!

What do you hope listeners feel or think when they hear “Ram Pang Pang” for the first time?

HAENA: Our challenge dance is a boxing dance! It's about blowing off stress. I'm also a high school senior preparing for university, and the study stress is really intense. Korea's entrance exam stress is especially tough, right? So I'm also blowing off stress while listening to this song! I hope other students can take a moment to blow away their stress while listening to "Ram Pang Pang!"

KEPI: I hope they feel that excitement from playing arcade games, that thrill of moving to the next stage. Forget the heaviness of reality for a moment and escape to the digital world with us! (laughs)

Were there any challenges or surprises during the creation of this single that shaped the final result?

KEPI: It wasn't easy to naturally mix 8-bit sounds with punk rock. It couldn't be too game music-like, but also couldn't lean too much toward rock... Finding that balance was challenging.

HAENA: It was my first time singing such a fast-tempo song, so timing my breathing was difficult! But as I practiced, I found that speed to be charming.

Can you share a memorable or fun moment from filming the music video?

HAENA: This concept originated from the game Street Fighter, and I had to play the role of Chun-Li, so I had to do kung fu poses, which were quite awkward! (laughs)

KEPI: I also remember the day I wore a dress for filming. Posing like my favorite fighting game characters... (laughs) It was a moment when my otaku dreams came true!

HAEPI has been such an important part of your journey. How do you keep their support in mind as you release new music?

HAENA: HAEPI is truly our happiness! Just like the name! They always send supportive messages and come to music shows... We're really grateful.

KEPI: When we decided on the fandom name, I suggested it - combining 'HAE' from Haena and 'PI' from Kepi to make HAEPI. It means we're connected as one with our fans... When working, I always think, "Will HAEPI like this?"

Since debuting with “Toy Toy”, how do you feel you’ve grown as artists, and how is that reflected in this release?

HAENA: I was really nervous at first, but now I'm comfortable on stage. For “White Letter,” I focused more on emotional expression, and with “Ram Pang Pang,” I could express more powerfully. I've learned so much musically from Kepi unnie!

KEPI: I think our musical spectrum has broadened. “TOY TOY” was our declaration, and for “White Letter,” we drew inspiration from the love story of Orpheus from Greek mythology. This time it's a completely different mix of 8-bit games and punk rock... We're growing through new challenges each time.

How do you approach the balance between making music that expresses yourselves and music that resonates with fans?

KEPI: I first make what I like. I believe fans will feel it if there's authenticity. But I try not to go too niche... (laughs)

HAENA: Right! When I sing songs Kepi unnie made, I try to sing with genuine enjoyment. I think listeners can feel that energy.

What have been some of the most important lessons you’ve learned as a group since your debut?

HAENA: That music is really difficult? (laughs) Just kidding, but I learned that teamwork is really important. I can do so much more with Kepi unnie.

KEPI: That it's okay not to be perfect. At first, I tried to make everything perfect, but I realized that sometimes raw energy can be more attractive.

How do you support each other as teammates during difficult or high-pressure moments?

HAENA: Unnie and I originally have very different interests.  I like soccer (Manchester City fan) and Kepi unnie is an anime otaku. When I talk about baseball and soccer, unnie listens, and I listen when unnie talks about anime! (laughs). Having such different hobbies helps relieve stress when we talk. She also teaches me a lot musically. She's really dependable!

KEPI: Haena always lifts the mood with bright energy. When I'm too absorbed in work, she says "Unnie, take a break!" and takes care of me... We balance each other out.

What’s one thing about being in ANGEL NOISE that still surprises or excites you?

HAENA: That we can try new concepts every time! I'm curious what we'll do next!

KEPI: When people say "This sounds like an anime opening!"... (laughs) I feel proud that my taste connected. And I'm amazed every time Haena perfectly delivers my arrangements.

What are your hopes and goals for ANGEL NOISE over the rest of 2025 and beyond, and what can fans look forward to next?

KEPI: I want more performances and fans so we can perform overseas too. I hope many people who like ANGEL NOISE's musical color become HAEPI, and with that power, we can go international. Like

when we were invited to the Tokyo Scramble Festival, I want to move to bigger stages.

HAENA: Well, this is my last year of high school, so I hope to graduate well and get into the university I want... And I want to perform on bigger stages. I also hope we have more opportunities to meet HAEPI in person!

Lastly, please leave a message for HAEPI reading this.

HAENA: HAEPI! Thank you so much for always supporting us! We'll continue to show you better music and cooler performances! Love you!

KEPI: We can continue making music because of HAEPI. Please look forward to surprising you with unexpected sounds. Please stay with us until the end of our musical journey!
